Returning "Home"

Greetings! I pray you are having a great day!

I mentioned in my other blog post, "I Am Only Getting Started", that I took my very first yoga class at University of Alabama in Huntsville. That was 11 years ago when I was a student there. I began teaching yoga 3 years ago, at a local studio, and counting! I recently was on the good old Facebook and saw a post for instructors wanted. I thought, wow could this really be a great opportunity and decided to reach out to the manager that made the post. Once I reached out, I set a time to interview and discuss with her about becoming a regular yoga instructor at the University Fitness Center. I very frequently attended group fitness classes at the UFC as a student. I loved to stay active and have fun. The UFC offers so many great classes and areas to work out and just focus on health and fitness.

I did end up moving away from Alabama for a while and still continued my yoga journey. I ended up completing my bachelor's degree online at another university, exploring life and all of its experiences. After leaving UAH, I was still a college student, let's face it being a college student means little income most of the time and that was me. In the meantime, I continued to practice yoga and build upon my foundation. I watched YouTube videos, DVDs and anything else I could to learn and follow. I read books, but I rarely went to yoga classes other than my time spent at UAH. Very little income and still wanting to learn and grow. I found ways to build my practice, no matter the circumstance. I truly enjoyed it and just wanted to explore more of it.

After being away from Alabama, my hometown, for a few years, I decided to return. I was still practicing yoga and growing along with my journey. I wanted to expand more and was not sure how it was going to happen. I had an urge, a vision, of becoming a yoga teacher. I knew deep in my heart I always wanted to be a teacher, but of what. I knew I was not going to teach children, but I knew I had to teach. I finally put it together when I was presented an opportunity to try my hand at teaching my very first yoga class.

A local studio here in Huntsville, Alabama was looking for some new yoga instructors. I spoke with the owner, and we set a date for me to come in and teach my very first class. She told me starting out teaching 2 days a week would be better. It would help students to become familiar with me and it would help me to become more comfortable teaching. I agreed and so glad I did because from that point on, I have not looked back. I have enjoyed teaching since 2018 and do not plan on stopping any time soon. I have been with the same studio for over 3 years and love the community that has grown there. I have also taught at other locations around the city, sharing unity with the community through yoga.

As I continue to grow and expand, I will continue to share the wonderful tool of yoga and all of its wonderful benefits. The interview with the UFC manager went well and I accepted a position teaching as a group yoga class instructor. From taking my very first yoga class at UAH, to now teaching yoga classes at the UFC, I am truly so grateful, thankful and blessed. It feels as though things are coming back around full circle.

I know that more opportunities will come around that I have thought about, dreamed about and envisioned and my business of services will continue to grow. I choose to remain patient and present with each experience as much as I possibly can. Thank you for being on this journey with me and taking the time to read this. I pray that you too will be presented with the amazing opportunities that are meant for you as you continue to grow, evolve and expand.

I truly enjoy what I do and have so much more to share! Wishing you bountiful blessings!

Namaste`
